About The Artist
Baylie Stover is a fine artist from St. Petersburg, Florida, currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Psychology at High Point University. Her work leans toward expressionism and impressionism, exploring the use of color and dynamic composition to evoke emotion and convey human experience.
From an early age, Baylie has been drawn to creative expression in many forms including painting, drawing, and photography. She works across a wide range of mediums including acrylic, oil, watercolor, and clay. While her earlier work often featured animals and nature, her recent work reflects her interest in art’s therapeutic power. Recent projects focus on the emotional connection between art and the individual, reflecting her long-term goal of becoming an art therapist.
Outside the studio, Baylie is deeply involved in her local and academic art communities. She volunteers at Creative Clay, an inclusive art therapy center in St. Petersburg, where she supports artists of all abilities in creative exploration. She also interned at the Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg in the Education and Engagement Department, gaining insight into exhibition planning and how art connects with diverse audiences. She continuously advocates for the importance of art in community and education.
At High Point University, Baylie serves as president of both the Creative Arts Fellows and the Studio Art Club. Through these roles, she fosters collaboration among artists across disciplines, promotes the arts on campus, and organizes events, including a visiting artist program that brings professional artists to speak with students about their creative careers.
Through her art and leadership, Baylie continues to explore the ways creativity can inspire, connect, and heal.
